Weekly Rundown- Waiting for a Cool Down

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by the Weekly Rundown, hosted as always by the dynamic duo, Kim and Deborah. Our weather tried to cool down a little, but then we had some days up to 90. I think the humidity is around 10000%, so basically we’re still living in the swamp. But, there was still running, of course! Here’s how the week played out. Sunday I wanted to sleep late, and I also wanted to run 5 miles. And I also wanted to not have a heat stroke… I solved this conundrum by carrying water in my hydration vest. It worked just fine, and I had a nice run. In the evening I did an upper body strength workout. Monday No school today, so once again I slept in a bit before going to work. After work, a 45 minute walk. Tuesday 11 mile train run! I went back to the trail where I saw the huge spider, who I have now named Georgie. Georgie was still in the same place! Last time, Susanne wished I had gotten a clearer photo. Once again I tried, but this still isn’t very good. Sorry, Susanne! This run felt good, and I’m getting motivated to start increasing my distance. At night- Adriene’s yoga for lower back pain. Wednesday 4 mile run! At night- upper body strength. Thursday In the morning I did Caroline Girvan’s deadbug workout. Then, a lower body strength workout. Later in the day I walked for one hour- it was a scheduled phone walk and talk with a friend, but she ended up having to reschedule so I just listened to a podcast. Friday Hmm. My SI joint feels tweaked again. I blame the squats, or rather the fact that my lower body strength training has dwindled to once a week, where I then hit it really hard in an attempt to make up for my lack of consistency. That “plan” is not working out well. It hurt when I started the run but eased up as I went on, and I did 5 miles with some speed work. At night- resting and icing that SI joint. Saturday Everything feels good! I did the CG deadbug workout again, and some upper body strength. At night- yoga for lower back pain. Sunday On tap for today- a 5 mile run. We’re having a RAINY weekend, so it might happen on the treadmill. That’s okay! All running is good running. Are you having fall weather? – Send some of that cool air down here please!!! Are there fun Halloween decorations in your neighborhood?
