Today

Recently, Thomas Oppong published an article, “This is the Secret of Life.” If you don’t feel like reading the whole thing, I’ll sum it up: “The secret of life is getting today right. Everyone can get today right, and if you can do it once, you can do it repeatedly.” Saturday is my hardest day at work. I work 9-5 with a very short break, and it can be mentally and physically exhausting. But then I come home from work, take a nap, get takeout, and relax on the couch while watching football. I would like to make the whole day great, and not just get through until 5:00 when I can start living it up. So what would it take to get Saturday right? Exercise in the morning. Eat a good breakfast. Caffeine up! Drink black tea and bring more along in travel mug. Do not forget to bring lunch (the day will be very, very bad if I forget my lunch). Get to work early so I have plenty of time to set up and not be rushed. Focus on one massage at a time instead of thinking about how many I have to do. Be pleasant to all clients and coworkers. BOOM. Done. But, the hardest part- going to bed early tonight so I get enough sleep. I don’t want to! I want to stay up and read my book! Sigh. Do you work on weekends? -Don’t feel too bad for me- I have Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, and that’s a pretty sweet schedule. What would it take for you to “get today right?”
