Weekly Rundown- Gearing Up…

Hello there! As usual, I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for this Weekly Rundown. My week started pretty typically, but towards the end I started shifting things around to get into the back-to-school groove. Here’s how it all played out.. Sunday I had a long walk (one hour, fifteen minutes) while I talked on the phone with a friend. Later in the day I did hip PT exercises. Monday 4 mile run! I remember very little from this run, but there’s a picture, so it happened. Tuesday I got out to my favorite trail for an 8 mile run. It was super hot and I was drenched in sweat, but so happy to be out there. Wednesday In the morning I did a lower body strength workout at home, including some hip PT. In the afternoon I walked for an hour while I talked to my son!!! They were just back from their honeymoon, and this was the first time I talked to him since the wedding. At night, I did an upper body strength workout, again at home. Thursday 4 mile run! My legs were sore from yesterday’s squats, but this run felt surprisingly good anyway. At night- Adriene’s yoga for low back pain. Friday 45 minute walk in the morning, and yoga for low back pain again at night. Saturday Here’s where I started to shift things around! I usually run on Saturdays before work, but I decided to hit the gym instead. As I suspected, Saturday morning at 7 am is a GREAT time for the gym- not crowded at all. I had a great full body workout, and was able to lift heavier than I can at home. Sunday Usually I sleep late and have a relaxing Sunday, perhaps with a walk in the afternoon. Today, I’m going to run! Here’s the thing- tomorrow is the first day of school. I’ve learned a few things over the years! The first day of school will include: 1) a painfully early wakeup, 2) drama, and 3) traffic. No need to add running into that mix- Monday will be a day off. How was your week? Do you anticipate any back-to-school drama?
