walkers walk… but runners fly

NaBloPoMo Day 4

I voted! And now I’m sitting at home with the TV off, blogging and reading. I’ve been shocked and saddened too many times by election results to have any hopes, opinions, or thoughts about this outcome. I cast my ballot, and now I’m practicing zen-like detachment.

In this state of peaceful acceptance, I have a few thoughts to share about NaBloPoMo. The first year I did it was 2021, and there were seven participants. I read and commented on every single blog post that year, and that’s how I met Stephany, Engie, and Tobia. It was so fun!

In 2022, there were sixteen participants. Again, I commented on every single post. Hmm… this is getting hard.

For the last few years, there have been over 30 participants, which is amazing! I’ve heard people say they’re afraid to try NaBloPoMo because they’re worried about keeping up with other blogs. I say- don’t even try to read and comment on all of them. There’s no way! I don’t think anyone should be discouraged from participating for that reason. The challenge is to POST EVERY DAY. Beyond that- we’ll all do our best.

Another reason not to let NaBloPoMo get out of control is that I still want to read BOOKS this month. My goal for the year was to read 75 books, which was a stretch goal for me (last year I read 63). To meet that goal, I would have to read 7 books in November and 7 in December. Can I do it??? We’ll see.

Just finished this and really enjoyed it!

Speaking of books… last year I had a “holiday TBR” and… I ended up reading a lot of lame books in November and December. It seems like so many holiday books are romance (not my favorite genre) or mediocre murder mysteries. I think this year I’ll just continue with my normal TBR- but if anyone can recommend a really good holiday book, I’ll read it.

Thanks as always to San for leading NaBloPoMo! You can check out this page for a list of participants.
