Woohoo! We had a high school football game tonight, and it was Senior Night, where they honor all the seniors in the band with a nice ceremony at halftime. (the football players and cheerleaders have their senior night next week). I may have mentioned, oh, a few times, how my son’s entire senior year was ruined by Covid. I was afraid that a) I would be sad about my daughter’s high school career coming to a close, and b) it would remind me of all the things my son missed.
But actually, it was a really nice night! I definitely thought about my son, but overall it was a happy occasion and I felt like I got some closure. (Because it’s obviously all about me, ha ha- my son couldn’t care less about high school anymore).

Speaking of my son… I’m feeling much better about Thanksgiving! I got a lot of great comments on that post, and the general consensus seems to be that we need to SIMPLIFY. It’s actually a relief to think that we don’t need to cook a huge dinner. I have some ideas of how the day could go (involving a charcuterie board, football game, easy dinner and possibly a movie) and now I just have to convince my husband and daughter. I’m pretty sure they’ll be fine as long as pie is still involved.
In the same post, remember how I talked about my plan to start Christmas earlier? Guess who agrees with me- THE MALL. I went because Bath and Bodyworks was having a sale on candles, and just look at this:

Here’s the candle display:

I got one more fall scented one, and also “Frosted Cranberry.” While I was there I got our Christmas hand soap, which is always “Twisted Peppermint”. They’ll go out as soon as our pumpkin soaps are empty.
Christmas decorations- too early???
Do you use scented soaps for the holidays?
