Well, that was fun! Posting every day in May definitely got me out of a blogging rut. I also feel much more excited about life in general going into June, than I did going into May. Just goes to show- these things are temporary.
Interestingly, I completed three of my May goals on the last day of the month. I finished my seventh book for the month, Yesteryear. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I know not everyone loved it (looking at you, Engie) but I really enjoyed it. I stayed up reading till 1:30 am on Saturday night (well, Sunday morning) because I had to see how it ended.

Next up- I went to the gym this afternoon and completed the last workout in the Iron Series! Well, it was the last workout for me- Day #29 (I did Day #30 a couple days ago) and it was a fun full body workout. Yay! I wish I had taken a photo, but the gym was fairly crowded. I was able to get a bench and the dumbbells I needed, but was aware that there were a lot of people around me. Still trying to figure out good times to go to the gym- apparently 4 pm on Sunday isn’t ideal.
THEN, when I got home, my shoes arrived! I tried them on, and…

THEY FIT!!! I mean… I can make them work. They’re about as comfortable as any dress shoe is going to be for me. I’m sure by the time I get through the ceremony and photos, I’ll be VERY happy to change into flip flops for the reception. By then, the shoes will have done their job.
So-ho-ho! I’m feeling pretty cocky. I have my dress and shoes! The two hardest things- everything else will be easy. We’ll talk about that when I get to June Goals.
Just for the record… I’m not doing JuneBloPoMo. But I might make MayBloPoMo an annual thing! Congrats to Kae, SHU, Coco, Noemi, Elisabeth, and Maria, who all joined in this zany journey.
DID I MISS ANYONE? – If you posted every day in May, or almost every day and I didn’t mention you, let me know!
HAPPY JUNE!

Hurrah- the shoes fit!! And they’ll look great, however long you wear them.
I finished my one May goal- reading The Picture of Dorian Gray. Some lovely language but it would have been a better short story. I’ll need to pick another classic for June. I checked out Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey, but I’m not sure it’s for me.
I just took a fun quiz, Which Classic Should You Read This Summer? I’ll link to it in another post. Mine came up as Mansfield Park, and I think I might read it. It would be a re-read, but it’s been a long time.
congrats for getting out of funk with this blogging month and achieved 3 goals!!! thanks for hosting it, I had fun too.
Yes, you did great Coco!
Woo hoo! A month of blogging, completing Iron, and finding dress shoes that won’t kill you!!! May was a high achievement month.
Yes, the shoes… that might have been the biggest accomplishment.
You accomplished a lot in May! I feel like the month was a letdown for me because of my DNF and some things out of my control but I’m hoping for a better June. I have some more time off work this month for my sister’s wedding (this week!) as well as Juneteenth so I only have one full work week this month to get through!
Well- the DNF was still a learning experience. But yes, I know those months. This month sounds festive for you- a wedding is exciting!
Woot! What a month, Jenny! You did it! And those shoes look GREAT. I am so relieved they fit well enough to work for the wedding.
It was a pretty good month! I’m so glad the shoes fit- it would have been a letdown on the last day if I had to return them and start all over again.
I fully expected you to skip blogging altogether today. Look at you blogging for 32 days in a row! Are you going to turn into one of those daily bloggers?
Ha! I wish I could say yes, but I know I won’t. How do people do it???
hooray for the shoes. They look pretty comfortable as dressy shoes go.
you deserve time off from blogging… but not too muc!
Yes, the shoes are just about as comfortable as a dress shoe is going to get. I actually wish I could take tomorrow off from blogging, but I can’t because I’m one of the hosts of Tuesday Topics…
Yesss! Dress and shoes in the bag (as it were!) NICE! I’m so glad you don’t have to think about them again.
I recently got the 12yo a bunch of pants and I struck out so hard. NONE of them fit. Not even close. He’s super skinny and really tall and it’s getting almost impossible to buy him pants. And sadly, in San Francisco, he can’t really wear shorts most of the time. It’s just so cold here in the summer.
I meant to say (on my last comment), that I read Yesteryear and LOVED IT. I had my daughter read it to (after reading Engie’s review actually! I wanted a third take on it!) and she really like it too. She read it in two sittings! I read it fast (for me) in less than a week. I’m also a little obsessed with tradwife stuff. I listened to the podcast series Under the Influence, and the first season was mostly about tradwives and I became a little obsessed, so Yesteryear was really fun to read. (I also really loved the podcase series Truly, Tradly, Deeply, also about tradwives. Like I said, a bit of an obsession).
Congrats on finish three May goals on the last day of May! Woot!
I wish I could get my daughter to read Yesteryear- I think she would really like it. But she’ll push back on it because she doesn’t like to read (SCREAM!!!)
I had the SAME PROBLEM with my son for years- he was super tall and skinny, so skinny that most pants in the store wouldn’t fit him. He’s still thin, but now in a normal way- at least he can buy pants like a regular person.
I did not post every day in May. I didn’t even post the 2x a week that I usually post. I’ve been sort of MIA. Life got really hectic. Congrats to you!
The shoes are cute. Great job securing the two hardest things that you need for the wedding. So exciting!
Congrats on breaking out of your blogging/life rut! Sometimes all we need is some sort of challenge like this. And hooray, I’m so glad to shoes fit!
Wow! That is a fantastic amount of wins!!! Great job!
