walkers walk… but runners fly

Five Things

As Linus Van Pelt once said, “Happiness is having five things to look forward to and nothing to dread.” Here are my five things right now:

  • My daughter is going out of town for a week! I mean- ahem. I will miss her! But, it will also be nice to have a change of routine. She’s going to New York with her boyfriend and his family. Hopefully she’ll have an amazing time, and I’ll enjoy a quiet week.
  • Father’s Day. With my daughter gone, we realized we don’t have to celebrate Father’s Day in any specific way. So, we decided to go out to dinner on Saturday night, when it will (possibly?) be less crowded with parents and kids. We’re going to a Mexican place, and I can already taste the beer, chips, and guac. Yum.
  • Finishing this book!

Thanks to NICOLE for putting it on my radar- I’m really enjoying it, and should finish it by Saturday. Then…

  • Making Sunday a “day of Agatha Christie.” I’ll read one that I just got from the library. Her books are short (around 200 pages) and I love reading an entire book in one day.
  • Two days off next week with nothing planned. Unlike this week, where Tuesday was a crazy day (driving back and forth to the vet twice, and driving my daughter to an appointment in between) I have NO unpleasant chores or errands scheduled. I don’t have to get a mammogram, or get a cat spayed, or go to the dentist… oooh, I wonder what I’ll do with those days???

What are you looking forward to?
