walkers walk… but runners fly

Hitting the Ground Running

I’m off! This morning at 7 am my flight leaves for Chicago. From there, I’ll rent a car and drive straight to Valparaiso, where I’ll be put right to work. Apparently there’s shopping, flower arranging, tablecloth steaming, and more. The wedding reception has a very strong DIY component, as in, we’ll be setting everything up on our own.

Then there’s the bridal shower, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and then of course the Big Day… photos, ceremony, reception… I can’t believe I originally thought I would have time to go to Indiana Dunes, and an indie bookstore in Valparaiso. Hahahahaha… that’s funny. But that’s fine. It’s officially Wedding Week, and I want to soak in every moment.

I may or may not post this week! I would like to, but time might get away from me. I’m pretty sure I won’t do a Weekly Rundown, so here’s an exciting (?) picture from my run today:

Well… I was excited that I was running, instead of inside on the StairMaster!

  1. Ooh!!! Way to bury the lede there! YOU’RE RUNNING AGAIN!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!

You’re a pro at making every day count, so I hope that you enjoy every minute of this week in particular. Just like the lead up to a race, I’m sure there will be plenty of “taper crazies”, lots of rushing around, and lots of last minute scrambling, but it’s also going to be such a special, fun time. The Dunes and the bookstore aren’t going anywhere, and I’m sure that this isn’t your last visit to Valparaiso.

Safe, fun travels friend! I can’t wait to hear about it on the other side!

  2. Running is a great feeling!!

    It sounds exhausting but rewarding.

I’m sure it will be perfect and you only have one son.

Maybe your daughter will elope lol.

  3. I’m sure the week will go by quickly with all the excitement so make sure to take some time to soak it all in! I can’t wait to hear how everything goes!

  5. Hold it, the flight leaves at 7am and you were already our running?? Thats Commitment!
The weather is supposed to be pretty good in the area through Saturday- I hope it holds true so you can enjoy the festivities without melting!
    Safe jouneys!

  6. I hope this week is amazing and fills your joy tank to overflowing.

I’m sure it will also be exhausting: emotionally, physically, and logistically. Relax as you’re able, my friend. I also feel like some things are better appreciated AFTER the stress and chaos are over, so these memories will bring delight for long after the actual ceremony is over.

I’m wishing Paul and Isabel a long and happy marriage. Enjoy this special week and congrats on raising such a fine man!!!

You know I will be here for ALL the wedding details whenever you get a chance to breath and blog about it <3

  7. So excited for you and this week ahead, Jenny. It’ll be crazy and stressful but also probably one of the best weeks EVER! 🙂
So soak it all in… and then come back and tell us all about it!
    Congratulations to Paul and Isabel.

  8. Happy Wedding Week Jenny!!!! Congrats to your son and his bride-to-be! I hope everything goes smoothly, and that if there are any wrinkles, they are easily handled.

  9. Don’t post this week, just soak it in! We will wait and enjoy your recap(s) once you are home. I hope you have an amazing time!

  10. So exciting Jenny!! Enjoy and savour the fun. A whole week of exciting wedding planning plus a wedding sounds wonderful.

  11. I’m way behind on my blog reading, but I’m excited to catch up on all the wedding excitement. I didn’t realize that the wedding is in Valpo. Reg lived near there when he took a gap year. It’s only about an hour from me. A DIY venue sounds like you get to put your own touches on the wedding and also like it might be tough to juggle doing all the things and visiting with all the people. Looking forward to reading the rest.
