walkers walk… but runners fly

May Goals

Now that I’ve put my planner in the freezer to make my May goals reappear (yes, that sentence makes NO SENSE if you missed my post about the disappearing ink), let’s just see how I’m doing.

1. Complete Iron Series. – Unless something goes wrong, I should be able to check this one off! I have two workouts left.

2. Read seven books.- Again, I think I’ve got this one! I’ve read six and am now about 50 pages into Yesteryear, which I’m enjoying (sorry Engie- we will discuss when I’ve finished the book!)

3. Buy wedding shoes. – Um… check? I did buy shoes for the wedding, but they won’t arrive till the weekend so I don’t know if they actually fit. If they do, amazing- if not, this will go onto the list of June goals.

4. Schedule colonoscopy. – HA! Did it! Well- I scheduled the consultation, and I’ll schedule the procedure at that appointment. I can’t wait. Eye roll.

4. Find dermatologist. – Okay, there are still three days left. I’ve given up on trying to get a recommendation, and am going to wing it with a random practice nearby. I have their website pulled up on my computer, so this is just a phone call away…

5. Stop binge eating. – This was a bad goal, way too vague. My issue is coming home from work starving and laying into a box of crackers, or something else salty and crunchy. I did better on some days but not all. I need to reconfigure this goal for June and make it more concrete and achievable.

That’s it! Time to get to work on some June goals. Hopefully I won’t have too many rollovers.

Do you set monthly goals? If so, how did you do for May?

  1. I would say you have done really well! I don’t tend to set goals for myself often, I just kind of fly by the seat of my pants I guess.

    1. I don’t always set monthly goals, and you can see I don’t have a lot (compared to some people). It’s helpful for me though- I’m not sure I would have scheduled the colonoscopy if I didn’t keep seeing it in my planner. Same with the dermatologist, although of course I haven’t done that YET.

  2. I find on more stressful I need more crunchy snacks when I get home, as a form of comforting my nerves. I rarely need it when it’s a good day. I’d be interested what you plan to do in june on that, I may need some tips too.

  3. I used to. Now I’m not sure if I have yearly goals.

    Survive.

    Stay healthy.

    Be happy.

    Be nice.

    Life goals. lol.

    1. Those are good goals! I would say I have those same life goals, except I have to break them down further to get myself to actually do things- like “survive” and “stay healthy” = get a colonoscopy, etc.

  4. I think you did pretty well on your May goals! I don’t really set goals much but I also bought shoes for my sister’s wedding — they came last weekend and they fit so I’m all set there.

I do have a couple of loose goals for next month but they’re really more to-dos. I need to take my car in for service which I’ve scheduled an appointment for next week, and I will also probably take my car in for an emissions test then so I can get my registration taken care of. Boring, but needs to be done!

    1. Ooh, I’m excited and envious that your shoes fit- fingers crossed, I think mine arrive tomorrow.
I guess some of my goals are more like “to-dos.” They go on my goals list and then get transferred to a “to-do” list every week in my planner until I finally can cross them off.

  5. Successful month!
I’m failing at my goal of reading The Picture of Dorian Gray in May, but there are three days left!
